Organization

An organization is a logical grouping of Applications and Users. It provides access to users of the administrative interface, and allows multiple users to collaborate when working with user data. Commonly, the name of the organization or company using the IdentityX service.

User

A user is a member of an organization, and is granted a certain role within that organization. A user can be a member of multiple organizations on the IdentityX service. Only users granted the Admin or Owner role may make changes to organization or application data, such as inviting new users to the organization, or creating new applications.

Application

An application is a logical grouping of Application Users, Teams, and Access Levels. This grouping allows users, teams, and access levels to be shared throughout the entire application context. Commonly, the website or mobile application name.

Access Level

An access level is a user-defined identifier for grouping and/or restricting access to content in consuming applications. Commonly, this would be similar to a role that users would need in order to be granted access to something.

Team

A team is a grouping of Application Users. Teams can have direct members (set via the "Team" field on the Application User), or have IP Address ranges or email domains set to give access indirectly. Commonly, a company or organization that accesses content regularly.

Application User

An application user is an end user of your application. They can have access levels or team memberships applied to them directly.

Consuming Application

The consuming application is the website, mobile application, or other interface that uses the IdentityX backend to provide authentication and authorization of access to content. Commonly, BASE or the website framework.
